Tuareg Caravan
In 2012, hundreds of thousands of Tuareg civilians flee war-embroiled Northern Mali. The film follows the story of Disco, a Tuareg singer engaged for peace, over a period of 10 years. Through her life we discover the challenges facing Tuareg communities and the causes of the war in Mali. The Tuaregs have been called the blue people for the indigo-dye colored clothes they traditionally wear and which stains their skin. A semi-nomadic Muslim people, they are believen to be discendants of the Berber natives of North Africa. Tuareg Caravan is a film by Marlene Rabaud and Arnaud Zaitman, produced by Esprit Libre Production and Magellan Films.
