Lockerbie revisited by Levy, Gideon

On Wednesday 21 December 1988 PAN AM 103 flight was destroyed by a bomb, killing all 259 passengers and crew members. As a result the event has been named by the media as the lockerbie bombing. After a three year investigation, the Libyan Al Megrahi was convicted for the presumed terrorist attack and sentenced to life imprisonment. However, after eight and a half years in prison he was released on compassionate grounds. Throughout his imprisonment he maintained that he was innocent and filed several appeals. ‘Lockerbie Revisited’ is a Backlight documentary by Gideon Levy which shows that FBI , CIA and Scottish police have cooperated in tampering with evidence. Perhaps Al Megrahi is indeed innocent. Lockerbie Revisited has won the Prix d'Europe for best documentary in the category current affairs
