In a white man's land by Landstra, Kim

In a White Man's Land is the story of three young refugees, Bernard, Toni and Pedro, who share their life stories in the film. Life in The Netherlands is anything but easy. All three are minors and this is a constant source of problems. They miss their parents and friends, and live in a world that is totally opposite to anything they knew before. In a white man's land provides a glimpse into the lives of young, displaced refugees trying to build a new life for themselves.

Historic Interest
The three have all been through a lot. Bernard fled civil war in Congo, and in Sudan, where Toni and Pedro are from, Toni was a child soldier. Obtaining the right to stay in The Netherlands is difficult.

Social Interest
The horrible things they have experienced have made a deep impact on the boys. The war and violence they saw up close has left them with fear and psychological problems, which are complicated further by considerable cultural differences and the uncertainty of living without a residence permit.
