A philosopher for all seasons
This is a tribute to a famous scholar and controversial Israeli icon. Armed with a sharp mind and a strong opinion, an 88 year old Yeshayahu Leibowitz creates passionate monologues based on the main theme of this film; the separation of state and religion. He is well known for his critical views on the Israeli national policy and his rejection of the Occupation. With many critics and admirers, Leibowitz is one of the most politically engaged professors in Israel. Furthermore, this film succeeds to emphasize the importance of the visions of Leibowitz by adding opinions of other Israeli philosophers and writers.
